Secos Classic Surf Contest 2008
The 22nd Annual Secos Classic
was held Sept. 4th at Leo
Carrillo. The event was blessed
with head high + sets and
great conditions throughout
the day. Olas Restuarant out
of Cammarillo provided the
tasty food and Tony of Leo
Carrillo Beach Store served up
Starbucks. His son Damo
organized the event which
came off without a hitch and
fun was had by one and all.
Every contestant recieved a
shirt designed by world
renowned tattoo god Robert
Atkinson. Brandon Chapman
was the winner in the Mens
Division and Morag Sewell was
the winner in the Womens
division After the event
everybody met up at the Beach
Store for some Suds and B-B-Q.
A raffle was held with prizes
donated by The Beach Store
and Becker Surfboards and I
don't think anybody went
away empty handed. It was
decided that the trophy which
was designed and made by Sam
of Uniki Tiki should be a
perpetual one with the
winners added on every year.
Next years event looks to be
even bigger and better and I
know we all can't wait.
